Viva La...

Yup, it's another holiday, therefore another post.

I'm currently in California on business. I also happen to have family in the area so I took some additional time off to help out my grandparents. There's a lot to help out. My uncle is overhauling the entire back yard. My grandparents are at the age where they are unable to upkeep the yard. Now it is going to have a sprinkler system and a water/rain runoff. As well (thanks to me) they have firewood for the winter and their leaves raked.

I've started my promotion job and have been busy with that lately. They really don't wait to get going. I didn't receive much training but I am expected to maintain excellence. My office really needs more people who actually do work. Frustrating.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. This year I decided to put my hair to use. The costume wasn't to difficult but I think it is a good one, don't you?

Not even a holiday...

...and I'm still posting. Here's a photo for you. It's not the best, but why post the best all the time. Looking at this I'm feeling like a brown "where's waldo" that refuses to wear red. Oh, well whatever. This was back in Christmas. Now my hair is long enough to pull back. So horray to the J-curl-less look.

Things have been busy at work. AND I've been under the weather. It sucks but I don't have time to stop and be sick. I just have to make it through the rest of this week and I should be good to go...until next week. We'll see what happens. There may be a promotion for this leper in the near future. It is in the air right now but I'm hoping it has some $$$ signs when it comes down.

The summer has been busy and NOT full of fun vacations like I had anticipated. Kristal's employment kind of ruined that as she's been scheduled to work through weekends occasionally. I have however, been painting a bit more, well when it hasn't been raining. In case I haven't said it before the weather in new england sucks.

I sound really negative right now, but most things have been treating me well. I'm just getting over a summer cold/cough/flu and that hasn't been fun.

Big ups,
R

St. Patty's Day

This is looking like a holiday blog. I guess I only get time to check these types of things on holidays.

Boston loves St. Patrick's Day. There are tons of events going on but... it is currently snowing. So I don't know how much I'm really going to be doing this weekend. Additionally I have a crick in my neck (who came up with the word crick?) and quite a bit of homework to do.

It has been Spring Break at my institution of Higher Education. Normally that means I'm able to relax a bit more. But that doesn't seem to be the case lately. I must admit it has been nice to walk around with out 50,000 students all over the place.

I'm a bit depressed about the weather. It was so warm at the beginning of this week I was planning on busting out the scooter again. Oh well, maybe all the snow and ice will be gone next week.

Valentines Day

Why don't I get this day off of work?

I don't want to bag on this day. I know there are a lot of reasons to not agree with the holiday, but really it's coming from those that want to love someone or from those that don't want to love someone.

This year, we will be cooking our own Maine lobsters. What that is going to be like? I don't know. I am excited to watch them go from their brown color to that bright red, oh and get all messy eating them.

Two years ago on Feb 14th I proposed to my wife. Yes, cheesy and cliche but later she said that if I didn't propose she was going to leave. Hey me, good call!

Boo yeah,

Dwight Bobblehead

Dwight keeps me company through the day. He's my only desk friend. Actually as I look around that is a lie. He has a couple of buddies. Two frogs one green, one blue (they're stretchy!) And a nice purple hippo wrist thingy that keeps my wrist from hurting when I'm using my mouse.

I just moved Dwight to a new spot next to my monitor and I think he likes it. I see him more often and will often think, what would Dwight do in this situation? Some of my answers were: dress like a Sith Lord, practice Ka-ra-te, and be an assistant (to the) regional manager.

Thanks NBC.

Happy Holidays

I can still write my new years goals and plans even though it is the 4th right? Once I do I'll post them on here so they are public and people (you know who you are) will follow up with me on that.

I had a great time in the SLC with family and friends. I like my group of friends they are good people. I also found that my best friend is going to Italy. I might have to make a trip to Italy one of the goals for this year. He will be there for two years so if I don't get to it this year I can make it next.

Things are nice and quiet at work. I'm just chugging away with tasks at my own pace. I'm loving it.

Keep it on the DL

The Cost of Living

I'm not grasping the reasoning behind the inflated prices in big cities. At my parents place groceries are 50-75% the cost of things in b-town. What is that? There are a lot less fortunate persons in this town and I just want to tell them to leave the big city and they'd most likely find a place of comfort. Then again big city people are big city people. Stubborn runs in their veins.

Start seeing cyclists.

I just had my job evaluation the other day. I try and make it what it is.. an evaluation. But it is a bit difficult to think about that when my raise is most likely contingenton the outcome of this evaluation. I faired well and there were some good points of improvement. It's always kind of awkward though. I think that evals should happnen at least twice a year to really ensure improvement and take off the strain of reviewing the entire year in one sitting. Whatever.

I'm getting tired of evening tv. I'm cutting down the line up and thinking about taping the shows and watching them the next day. I really am not digging all of the comercials, especially all of the political ones. Plus, it cuts down the time it takes to watch.

I will get a new licence this week.
